This cottage is wonderful!!

Date of Stay:

Everything was great about the cottage, beautiful home, wonderful neighbours, amazing scenery, great walks on the beach. It is close to great spots like Greenwich park and to Charlottetown for touring. The rooms are as beautiful as the pictures display. You feel right at home the minute you arrive. Everything that you would need is there. I would recommend this cottage to anyone going to the island.

Remote, Comfortable, Attractive!

Date of Stay:

We three friends spend a wonderful week at Garnet Shores, Sept. 15-22. Initially, we were dismayed upon realizing we had a mile or so on a dirt road to get to the cottage because we did plan to spend a good amount of time visiting the various attractions and areas of PEI. However, it turned out to be no big deal, and even the minor inconvenience was outweighed by the pristine beauty of the beach and the lovely accommodations. The beds were super-comfortable. The kitchen is large and functional although I would recommend better (heavier and non-Teflon) frying pans. The house was certainly clean enough for our standards; the only thing that might bother some is the windows, which tended to have spiders and their webs (outside, not in). Again, that is minor and it didn't bother us, and after all, spiders work really, really FAST--cleaning operations couldn't keep up with them! The owners were MOST helpful from the beginning, sharing great personalized recommendations. Plenty of good-tasting, very hot water. Morell is the nearest town of any size at all. It does have a decent grocery store. I think it is about 15-20 minutes from the cottage. There is a gas station/convenience store just a few miles away. At least in this county, alcohol cannot be purchased at convenience or grocery stores, but there is a liquor store in Morrell that sells beer, wine, and spirits. There is a land-line phone in the cottage; nice, because my friend's i-phone didn't work. My basic free phone/Sprint worked just fine. Fine Wi-Fi connection. We did have to call the owner to get the password. Nice outdoor shower with hot water. The beach is beautiful. Sea glass is there and fun to find. We did see people in the water although we only waded. When we were there mosquitoes were plentiful at dawn and dusk but not very aggressive. All in all, a lovely and serene 'base' from which to experience the beauty of this 'gentle island.' I would recommend this to friends or relatives with the notation about the dirt road. I don't think that should really dissuade anyone unless a bumpy ride for a mile or so is an upsetting thought. Oh, nice selection of DVDs for kids and adults, and games and cards, etc. And you can view sunrise AND sunset from the yard or beach, or the window of your bedroom!

Prince Edward Beach Dream

Date of Stay:

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful home on the beach of PEI. The home was spotless and comfortable, allowing a respite and place to settle for a few days while adventuring through Nova Scotia and PEI. The house sits just above the ocean and it was lovely to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. We enjoyed meeting the neighbors, searching for sea glass on the beach and exploring PEI from this incredible home.

Perfect Peace

Date of Stay:

The Garnet Shores Beach House was recommended to us by our son who had used it with hi family on two occasions. He judged it to be excellent and we thought it was even better than that. Quiet, secluded, wonderful beach for long walks and I guess swimming in July and later. The cottage is completely equipped for even the most avid chef and virtually everything was clean and in working order. A perfect place for one or two couples or a family with kids.

Relaxing and peaceful vacation spot.

Date of Stay:

What a wonderful location, so close to the beach, stairs were easy to manage. Lots to do in PEI and everything is near by, short drives to anywhere on the Island. The house the spotless and cozy. We had everything we needed right there. Loved the longs walks on the beach and beautiful sunsets from our porch. Thanks for so much relaxation!
